HEAR FROM OUR SATISFIED CLIENTS

Finding a great barber is like trying to find a mechanic. I have been fortunate to be a client of this amazing barbershop. Ish the owner and his team always make you feel welcomed. There is no click feeling at this place. They take care of a wide spectrum of cuts from kids to your everyday day hair cut. They always do a great job cutting hair, doing designs on my 17 year old son and even touching up my occasional grey hair. If you are looking for a great barbers that are fast reliable and on time please take my word when I say try this place. Once you try it you will be a customer for life.

I don't usually post reviews, but I think I had to on this one. My son and I love the service Adolfo gives us, he already knows what haircut we are looking for. He makes conversation with my son, which he loves. He doesn't just treat us like an other haircut. The mood is very chill and the rest of the crew is very nice as well. As soon as you walk in the whole crew greets you. We definitely recommend this barber shop.

Yelp Review

My usual barber Ish had to cancel because he got sick so I had to book with another barber. I went with Danny and I am happy with the results!! He was very nice and made conversation through out the cut. He took his time and checked in on the length to see how I liked it. I was nervous because my birthday was the next day but he pulled through and gave me an excellent cut! If I ever need a cut from someone other than my barber I would definitely go to him again!

Yelp Review

Very satisfied with the service here at Gifted Barbers studio. Everyone has excellent customer service. My son always gets an awesome haircut with all the barbers. Tommy is great, he always gets me an appointment even if it's last minute. Thanks guys!!

Yelp Review

I found this gem of a barber shop almost by accident, but damn I'm glad that I did! Even though it's a bit out of my way, and there's a ton of other barber shops between my home and Gifted Barbers, I happily make the trip there because I know that Adolfo is going to send me off with a great cut - and one that always gets complimented by friends, family, & colleagues. I've been to many, many barbers, and Adolfo is hands down the best barber who's ever cut my hair.

Yelp Review

I've been coming here for way over a year, but today, by far, I got the best cut since going to Gifted Barbers Studio. I left highly satisfied. Ish got down and is really good at his craft. The price was defiently worth the cut and with good vibes at this location, I highly recommend this place for your next cut, and not just Ish but all Barbers at this location, they wont disappoint I guarantee it.

Yelp Review

We have the best experience when we visit. Great environment, the music they play gives a great vibe. Kinda makes you feel like you’re in West Hollywood sometimes. Ish is our preferred barber/stylist always does a great job! However, we pay attention to the haircuts the other barbers are doing and they’re always on point! It’s hard to find a great barbershop this side of the Mississippi :) (being so far away from LA), But gifted barbers are truly GIFTED!

Clean place, great service! I took my toddler here for his first haircut at 2 years old and they made him feel comfortable and welcomed! Since his first time, we’ve used a few barbers due to random scheduling and have had a great experience and killer haircut each time! I highly recommend this barber shop and have referred a few friends here! Appreciate the service

The shop is very welcoming and clean. Being able to book an appointment AND pay online is a huge plus. Tommy is a very skilled barber. Every cut I received was exactly what I asked for. I always leave a satisfied customer. If you are in the area you should definitely head to Gifted Barbers!

The service was good. Danny focused on detail as well as allowed for guidance from his fellow barber. We all start somewhere and we all need to allow patience for those learning. My son requested a Mohawk so I was more than willing to wait and we were not disappointed. We would come back.

Let's get real for a second—dealing with thinning hair isn't exactly the most fun topic to discuss, but it's something that affects about 85% of men by age 50. If you're reading this, chances are you've noticed your hairline doing its own thing, or maybe your crown isn't as thick as it used to be. Here's the good news: at Gifted Barbers Studio in Glendora, we've helped hundreds of guys navigate this exact situation, and there are definitely ways to work with what you've got. The truth is, thinning hair doesn't mean you're stuck with boring, ultra-short cuts or that you need to hide under a hat. With the right approach, you can actually create styles that make your hair look fuller and more voluminous than it has in years. Let's dive into the strategies that actually work. Understanding Your Thinning Pattern First Before we talk cuts, it's important to figure out what type of thinning you're dealing with. Not all hair loss is the same, and different patterns call for different solutions. Receding hairline: This is probably the most common one we see. Your hairline gradually moves back, creating that classic "M" shape. The good news? There's a lot you can do with this. Crown thinning: When the top of your head starts getting sparse while the sides stay thick. This one's a bit trickier, but definitely manageable with the right cut. Overall thinning: Your hair is getting thinner all over, but you're not necessarily losing it in specific spots. This actually gives us the most options to work with. Diffuse thinning: Similar to overall thinning, but more gradual and even. Often the easiest to camouflage with the right techniques. The Cuts That Actually Work The Textured Crop: Your New Best Friend This is hands down our most popular recommendation for guys with thinning hair, and for good reason. The textured crop keeps things short enough that thin spots aren't obvious, but leaves enough length on top to create the illusion of thickness. Here's why it works: when hair is too long and thin, it tends to separate and show scalp. When it's too short, there's nothing to work with. The textured crop hits that sweet spot—usually about 1-2 inches on top with subtle layers that create movement and dimension. We use texturizing techniques to remove weight without removing too much length, which gives your hair more body and makes it appear fuller. Plus, it's super easy to style with just a small amount of matte paste or clay. The Modern Caesar: Classic with a Twist Remember Julius Caesar? Turns out he was onto something with that forward-swept style. The modern Caesar is perfect for guys with receding hairlines because it brings hair forward to cover problem areas. Unlike the old-school version that looked pretty rigid, today's Caesar incorporates texture and movement. We'll cut it so the hair naturally falls forward, creating coverage where you need it most. The key is keeping the sides and back neat with a subtle taper while maintaining enough length on top to sweep forward. The Strategic Side Part If you've got a receding hairline but still have decent thickness on top, a well-placed side part can be a game-changer. The trick is positioning the part to maximize coverage over thinner areas. We'll identify your natural growth patterns and create a part that works with your hair, not against it. Sometimes this means parting further to one side than you might expect, but the coverage you get is worth it. Style it with a light pomade for hold without weight. The Buzz Cut Fade: When Less is More Now, I know what you're thinking—"isn't this just giving up?" Not at all. A well-executed buzz cut with a fade can actually look incredibly sharp and confident. The key is in the details. Instead of a uniform buzz all over, we create subtle variations in length that add dimension. Maybe a #3 on top blending to a #1 on the sides, with clean lines around the edges. This approach embraces your situation while still showing that you care about your appearance. Styling Techniques That Add Volume Even the best cut won't reach its full potential without proper styling. Here are the tricks we teach our clients: The Right Products Make All the Difference Volumizing mousse: Apply this to damp hair before styling. It adds body without weight and helps create lift at the roots. Matte clay or paste: These give you hold and texture without the slick look that can make thin hair appear even thinner. Dry shampoo: Not just for women! A light spray of dry shampoo at the roots can add grip and volume, especially on second-day hair. Avoid heavy products: Thick pomades, gels, and oils will weigh your hair down and make it look flat. Blow-Drying for Volume Here's a secret most guys don't know: how you dry your hair matters just as much as how you cut it. When you blow-dry, flip your hair in the opposite direction of how you normally wear it. This creates lift at the roots. Use a brush to lift sections of hair while you dry them—this adds volume and helps train your hair to have more body. Once it's dry, you can style it back to your preferred direction, but you'll keep that extra lift. The "Messy on Purpose" Approach Sometimes the best way to hide thinning hair is to embrace a slightly tousled, textured look. This works because: It creates the illusion of more hair through movement Random directions hide thin spots better than slicked-back styles It looks intentional and confident, not like you're trying to hide something What to Avoid (Trust Us on These) Combover from way over: We've all seen the guy trying to stretch three hairs across his entire head. It's not fooling anyone, and it often looks worse than just embracing the situation. Hair that's too long: When thinning hair gets too long, it just looks stringy and emphasizes the problem areas. Heavy, wet-looking products: These make your hair lie flat against your scalp, which is the opposite of what you want. Harsh parts: Super straight, defined parts can actually draw attention to thinning areas. The Confidence Factor Here's something we tell every client dealing with thinning hair: confidence is your best accessory. We've seen guys with perfect hairlines who look insecure, and guys with significant thinning who absolutely own their look. The right cut helps, absolutely. But the real magic happens when you find a style that makes you feel good about yourself. Maybe that's a textured crop that gives you more volume, or maybe it's a clean buzz cut that says you're comfortable in your own skin. Professional vs. DIY: When to Call in the Experts Look, we get it—there are a million YouTube tutorials and DIY hair cutting guides out there. But when you're dealing with thinning hair, the margin for error is pretty small. A bad cut can make thin spots more obvious, while a great cut can add years to your appearance. At Gifted Barbers Studio, we've spent years perfecting techniques specifically for thinning hair. We know how to work with different hair textures, face shapes, and thinning patterns to create cuts that actually work. Moving Forward with Confidence Thinning hair is just one aspect of who you are—it doesn't define you. With the right cut, proper styling techniques, and a confident attitude, you can look and feel great regardless of what's happening up top. The key is working with professionals who understand that every head of hair is different, and what works for one guy might not work for another. We take the time to assess your specific situation and create a personalized approach that maximizes what you've got. Ready to discover what's possible with your hair? Come see us at Gifted Barbers Studio in Glendora. We'll help you find a style that works with your lifestyle, your hair type, and most importantly, makes you feel confident every time you look in the mirror. Because at the end of the day, the best haircut is the one that makes you feel like the best version of yourself.
